The Las Vegas Family Unity Bond Fund is dedicated to reuniting immigrant families impacted by politics of hate. We are a revolving bond fund for individuals impacted by police-ICE collaboration, refugees and asylum seekers, and detainees, to fight for the dignity of people in immigrant detention in Nevada.  We focus our limited resources on individuals detained in Nevada, or whose families are located in Nevada.

The immigration court system routinely sets erroneous high bond amounts that are impossible for low income families to pay. The average bond amount for individuals in proceedings in Nevada is $5,000. Across the country, the average bond amount in December 2019 was $9,000. We support individuals to fight their deportation cases from home, with their families, and better utilize limited resources to obtain legal representation and care for their families during drawn out immigration court proceedings.

The Bond Fund is a component of larger long term efforts to end migrant detention, end police-ICE collaboration, and ensure justice and dignity for all migrant families. Learn more about our advocacy and organizing at Arriba Las Vegas Workers Center.
