How the Fund Works

The Las Vegas Family Unity Bond Fund is operated by a democratic committee of people directly impacted by immigration policies, and allies. All funds raised go directly to the costs of bonding out individuals and reuniting families.

Our values are priorities are to post bond for individuals:

• Who are low income and otherwise unable to post bond
• Who have children and families impacted by deportation proceedings
• Whose lives are at risk if deported, either because they have a threat against their life, or because medical treatment is insufficient
• Who are active plaintiffs in litigation that would create structural change impacting a broader network of people and their families
• Who are activists creating an impact within our organization or the community more broadly
• We take into account family, and the emotional and mental health of the families as well as the individual in detention.

Each case for which we receive a request for support is reviewed in its entirety and complexity, each case is considered from the perspective of a family unit. At the end of their case, funds are returned and recycled for another family who seeks support.

The Las Vegas Family Unity Bond Fund is a project of Arriba Las Vegas, and is driven by the leadership and investment of our members. We are a member of the National Bond Fund Network.
